Massage Therapy

If you are looking for a fulfilling profession in the alternative health care field, Massage Therapy may be the answer.
The primary objective of this program is to ensure that you are skilled and knowledgeable in all areas of this emerging vocation. Ethics and behaviours will be important components of this course, which will prepare you to take the College of Massage Therapists of Ontario (CMTO) examinations.
Employment for Registered Massage Therapists (RMTs) is growing rapidly. As a skilled and professional practitioner, you will find opportunities in a wide variety of traditional and alternative health care environments. You could work in any of these areas: private clinics, wellness centres, medical, rehabilitation and sports clinics, hospitals, geriatric care settings and clinics offering chiropractic homeopathic and naturopathic care. Your education might mean employment in non-traditional settings such as health spas, hotels, fitness institutes and sports organizations. Your work could take you to tourist destinations such as cruise ships or on the road, with a theatre or dance group. You could even go into business for yourself.
Once you have completed the Massage Therapy program you will be eligible to register with the College of Massage Therapists of Ontario and write the Registration examinations. This will allow you to practice as a Registered Massage Therapist in the province of Ontario. (Note: The registration examinations are offered 3 times a year, in May, August and November. Examination and membership fees must be paid to the CMTO)
Massage Therapy is more than a rewarding profession, for many it is also a commitment to their own personal development.
