Northwest Territories is a haven for true wilderness lovers. It is beautiful and immense, wild and pristine. Most of the activities in NWT revolve around the outdoors. This can include anything from canoeing, kayaking, dog sledding, snowshoeing, hiking, and bird and wildlife viewing. It is also one of the best places to view the magnificent Northern Lights. Or head to city and spend some time in Yellowknife, the diamond capital of North America, and entertain yourself with music, arts, and cultural festivals. You should also know that this is the land of the midnight sun; due to the close proximity to the Arctic Circle, the sun is up 24 hours a day in the peak of the summer!
