Nunavut offers spectacular arctic landscape like nowhere else in Canada. This is a great place to view arctic wildlife and learn about Inuit culture and traditions. You can listen to ancient throat songs or watch an elder handcraft a traditional drum. You could have a one of a kind cultural experience in a nature lodge or relax in an igloo with an Inuit guide after a day out on the tundra.
Other great outdoor activities include ice, mountain, and rock climbing or canoeing in a great river. Take it a step further and go on a northern expedition to the North Pole, but keep in mind that it is dark six months of the year due to the close proximity to the Arctic Circle. This is the land where the polar bears roam, whales play, and Atlantic walruses bask on the shorelines. Nunavut is also home to one of the largest caribou herds in the world.
