Windsor is the southernmost city in Canada and lies across the Detroit River from Detroit, Michigan. It has been nicknamed the "City of Roses" because of the beautiful flowers planted throughout the parks and streets. Windsor also competes with Oshawa, Ontario for the title of the "Automotive Capital of Canada," as it is home to several key auto manufacturing plants.
Windsor, Ontario is a vibrant musical community which makes for a great night of dancing at one of the popular clubs. You will find loads of fun and excitement at the two week long Windsor-Detroit International Freedom Festival, where the fireworks display is among one of the largest in the world. Windsor is also a great place to experience the wine region of Ontario or if wine is not your thing, there are also some excellent brewery tours available.
