Counselling Schools & Colleges

Counselling SchoolsCounsellors play an important role in society; this role could be yours once you complete counselling training at one of the schools and colleges listed in this guide. You will learn how to use counselling techniques that provide your patients with the tools needed to change their lives. You will help them adjust their behaviours and patterns so they are able to work toward a more positive future.

Counselling training will introduce you to the many reasons why people turn to counsellors. They may need assistance because they are a victim of family violence or lost a family member. They could be struggling with substance abuse or simply have a hard time handling life's challenges. Your counsellor training will help you learn therapeutic techniques to help all types of people in all types of situations. You will learn how to help them build self-esteem and confidence while managing and reducing stress.

Counselling training schools will also show you how to offer group counselling to help two or more individuals resolve emotional conflicts. This directly relates to family counselling where emotions are high and all parties need to find common ground. This training can lead you to a fulfilling career in any number of fields, including marriage, substance abuse, rehabilitation, and child abuse counselling.
