The heart is one of the most important parts of the body. It is crucial for people to have strong and healthy hearts so they can live longer and happier. When their hearts are not functioning properly, they need to turn to professionals for help. If you want to help people with their cardiac problems, the Cardiology Technologist program at Stenberg College is a great starting point. You will learn how to assist with diagnostic cardiac procedures in hospitals and clinics.
You will be shown how to perform ECG, stress, and graded exercise tolerance tests, as well as holter monitoring. You will obtain hands-on experience using diagnostic cardiac equipment and will be able to interpret readings and prepare reports. You will also carry out phlebotomy procedures. You will perform a range of activities that will help a cardiologist diagnose cardiac diseases.
The Cardiology Technology program also prepares you for the national certification exam so you can become registered with the Canadian Society of Cardiology Technologists.
