Medical Office Assistant
Medical Office Assistants support health care professionals by performing a variety of office tasks. Stenberg College will prepare you to take on this position with the Medical Office Assistant program. You will learn to carry out a range of administrative and clinical duties, and will become proficient with medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and pathology.
You will develop the ability to record patient information and manage records; you will be able to take care of incompleteness, inconsistencies, and inaccuracies. You will become proficient with transcription and billing procedures so you can handle insurance forms and other insurance-related matters. You also develop the computer skills needed to work with documents, spreadsheets, and databases.
The skills and abilities you attain through your training will be valued in all types of health care offices. This includes family practices, physiotherapy clinics, hospitals, and surgical centres. You will soon provide vital support services to health professionals!
